Southend BJJ Open - 30th November 2104

Six people from the gym competed in Southend at the weekend, with one managing to get on the podium. Kevyn Clark took Silver in the Senior White Belt -88.3kg division, whilst Daniel Haynes took a hard fought 4th place after having 7 bouts. James Freshwater also got a 4th place finish, losing in his bronze medal bout, although much of the crowd believed he should have won the fight which would have got him a gold medal fight. Ryan O'Gorman, George McCann and Georgia Iote dropped hard fought losses but gained experience nonetheless. For all but one, it was their first Gi competition, no doubt everyone will be back stronger than ever.
